Find the area of a virtual object.

     Hints:

  • Enter numbers ONLY!  Don't add the " mark for inches or the ' mark for feet.  It messes up the calculation and you will get weird results, and probably an error message. 

  • Do not mix inches and feet in the same calculation.

     To get a measurement on the calculator in square feet:

  • Enter the measurements in inches.

  • Divide the result by 144 (there are 144 square inches in a square foot) to get the number of square feet of tile you will need.  Example: Your results above = 360" (360 ÷ 144 =  2.5 sq. ft.)

OR

  • Enter the measurements in feet by dividing the number of inches by 12 .  Example: 20" ÷ 12 = 1.6 ft.

  • Trend - 1 Pound = .7 sq. ft.

  • Micro and other 3/8" format - 1 Pound =  .75 sq. ft.

  • Basics (1" format) - 1 Pound = .5 sq. ft.

  • Cinca Unglazed Porcelain - 1 sheet = 1.3 sq. ft.

  • Mirror Tile - 1 pound =  .7 sq. ft.

  • 4 x 4's - 1 tile = .125 sq. ft.

Please note: All of the above coverage specifications are approx. and does not take cutting waste and grout width into consideration.  With the exception of the sheeted tile installed as mounted.
